A Last Look

It’s official. The signature edition of Jessie Carty’s The Wait of Atom is now sold out. Atom was the inaugural title in our Signature Series and had a print run of 75 copies (plus proofs). This edition of Atom now lives across North America and Europe, and even claims a spot on the Poets House shelves in New York City.

Bummed you missed it? You can still purchase green editions and e-editions from our shop (e-editions also available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble). A little FYI: as of 2012, green edition chapbooks are hand-sewn instead of stapled.

In this poetry collection, John Sibley Williams explores the inner and outer landscapes encountered on a journey to Iceland. As with physical landscapes, surprising perspectives are revealed by each step. Lava and ice, civilization and wilderness, family and solitude–these apparent contradictions collide inside poems which beg to be read aloud, just as their Nordic ancestors were around Iceland’s first man made fires.

In addition to standard chapbooks, we have a deluxe package available. Megan & J.S. Graustein have collaborated to produce a limited edition print broadsideof the poem “Winter” from the chapbook. BIO:

John Sibley Williams is a poet and agent/publicist residing in Portland, OR. He has two Master’s Degrees (Creative Writing and Book Publishing) and has served as Acquisitions Manager of Ooligan Press. His poetry was nominated for the 2009 and 2011 Pushcart Prize and won the 2011 Heart Poetry Award. His chapbooks include A Pure River (The Last Automat Press, 2010), Door, Door (Red Ochre Press, 2011), Autobiography of Fever (Bedouin Books, 2011), The Longest Compass (Finishing Line Press, forthcoming), and The Art of Raining (The Knives Forks and Spoons Press, forthcoming).

BIO:

Nora Nadjarian is a poet and short story writer from Cyprus. She has published three collections of poetry: The Voice at the Top of the Stairs (2001), Cleft in Twain (2003) and 25 Ways to Kiss a Man (2004). Cleft in Twain was cited by The Guardian in an article on the literature of the new European Union member states in 2004. Recent publications include a bilingual English-German book of selected poems (Hochroth, 2010) and a micro novel, The Republic of Love (BluePrintPress, 2010). Her work has also been included in Best European Fiction 2011 (Dalkey Archive Press) and in the poetry anthology Being Human (Bloodaxe Books, 2011).
